The Fathers & Sons Compromise

It was a little bit of a bummer that the Father & Sons campout was scheduled for the same weekend as the End of the Year carnival. Noah was disappointed that he would miss the carnival, but he was excited to go camping with his Dad. Brad had been looking forward to taking Noah for two whole years!

The night before the campout, Brad and Noah went shopping for some camping supplies they needed. Then on Friday, Noah came home from school, all psyched for the carnival. He wanted to attend both, but the carnival ended so late, they really wouldn't have time. After about a half hour of tears and discussion, a compromise was finally reached. The whole family would attend the School Carnival and Brad and Noah would camp out in the backyard.
Noah had a blast at the carnival. He wanted to do everything, from the bounce house to the obstacle course, to the slides. Amalie stayed and played on the school playground the entire time.

We came home, had a yummy BBQ and s'mores and Brad and Noah camped out in the backyard. It actually worked out well and everyone had a good time. So glad. It really looked iffy there for awhile.
