For Our Good

As many of you know, we are at a transitionary time in our lives. Brad graduated from the Masters program in December and is now searching for a job. Last semester was probably one of the hardest and most stressful times of our lives with coursework orals and a thesis to write and defend. There were so many setbacks and obstacles to overcome. We really felt as though we had gone through the wringer (Rewriting the thesis several times, missing the deadline because of data inconsistencies, Brad getting so ill a few days before coursework orals, to name a few) It was like a huge burden on our backs that felt too heavy to carry. Even the kids could sense the stress. But through it all, we found that as we knelt down in prayer and put our faith and trust in a loving Father in Heaven, we have been lifted up, comforted and given reassurance that things will work out for our good. We were truly blessed as Brad was able to finish his thesis and coursework orals. It truly was a miracle with all the obstacles that cluttered our path.

You, as families and friends have supported us with your love, prayers, thoughts and generosity. We have felt an added measure of strength. Though this has continued to be a trying time searching for a job, it has also been a time of great comfort, peace and happiness.

Alma 26:16 “Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel.”
