Breaking in the Pottery Wheel

Brad spent the last year and a half building a Pottery Wheel in his spare time. The cool thing about it is that since he had little to no budget, he had to be seriously innovative. He used our treadmill motor, scrap pieces of wood from IKEA, a spindle and a hub from an old junkyard car and so forth. After he sealed it with Silicone, he was dying to try it out! Shannon was at our house, so Brad convinced her to be the first one to break it in. We all hung out in the hot sun. The kids had a blast playing with clay. Amalie made up a fun game which involved rubbing her hands in clay and water and then rubbing it on her face. She looked hilarious as you can see!Amalie wiping down the pottery faceplate.
Noah riding on another of Brad's creations - a skateboard fashioned from a 2x12, and then colored by Father and son.

Can you tell Amalie had a blast with the clay?
