We were so lucky that Brad's parents decided to vacation in Park City the week before Easter. We got to hang out over Easter weekend and it was just lovely. All of our three sets of parents live over 500 miles away, so we often are on our own for holidays. It's such a treat that we got to spend Thanksgiving and Easter with family! It really makes it so special.
One really funny thing that happened that weekend was when we went to nearby ice cream place. The place was letting the kids under 10 years pick a plastic egg with jelly beans in it. If you found a black jelly bean inside your egg, you won an Easter basket. Well, Amalie got a plastic egg, no black jelly bean. She was pretty disappointed. Gabe got a plastic egg, but no black jelly beans, but he was just happy to get some jelly beans. So, my persistent Amalie goes up to the owner and says, "My baby brother (who is 2 months old at the time) didn't get a plastic egg." She points to the car seat he is sitting in, and so the owner takes pity on her and tells her that he will let her Grandma pick an egg out for the baby. And guess what? Our two month old won the Easter basket! So funny!
Grandma and Grandpa put on an Easter Egg hunt for the kids, (which the kids loved!). And Cathy was so sweet and did all the shopping for the Easter dinner and then prepared most of it, letting me relax. I really do have wonderful in-laws. Brad's sister, Lauren and her hubby Preston and their beautiful baby, Amberlin came up to join in the festivities as well.
Cathy made her famous bunny cake that she made while her kids were growing up. It was so cute! What a sweet weekend that was.
