The Fort

One Sunday after church, Noah and Amalie collaborated to make Gabriel a fort.  Brad and I gave each other, "Aw, isn't that sweet?" looks.  The oldest two don't always get along, so if ever we see them working on a project together, it just makes our hearts soar. It was so sweet to hear them babying Gabe and asking, "Gabe, do you want us to make you a fort?" the way you would talk to a baby.

The fort looked like this at first.  The kids were having such a great time, adding more and more to the fort and bringing more into the inside to make it "fun".  The children continued to bring loads of blankets, pillows, books and toys down the stairs to make their fort more homey.  I smiled to myself, so happy they were playing together so well.

I lasted a little over 24 hours before I had them clean it up.  It was sweet to watch them work together and then play together.  I guess I shouldn't get too upset about the times they don't get along, because they definitely make those sweet moments that you never want to forget when you watch your children happily playing together all the more sweeter.
